About Ciadella Interiors
Pete Ciadella starting out by looking for 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air seat cloth for his Nomad. Not having much luck, but finding rolls of 1957 Bel Air cloth and purchasing it in hopes of trading for the Nomad cloth he needed.
The first find was in Buffalo, NY at an old auto upholstery shop. Buying NOS 1957 Chevy Bel Air fabric and aftermarket cargo area linoleum. Not trading the cloth but selling it by advertising in Hemmings Motor News and the National Nomad Club. And thinking "This Ain't to Bad".
Next was going to the library and searching through big city phone books for old Auto upholstery shops, and calling them and sending samples. Canada, Philadelphia, Boston, and other areas were very good. Again selling the seat cloth for a profit.
One big find was in Canada, finding 10,000 yards of NOS 1957 Chevrolet plastic Silver tinsel seat welt. Now we look back and it was fun.
Having the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Cloud pattern seat and door panel cloth was a giant step in the right direction. The year was around 1975 and I was working as an Auto Body Man in Rochester, NY, making $400.00 week on good weeks. Investing every extra dollar I made by doing side body work in my garage at home.
My wife was very understanding and remember spending all my pay check on Chevrolet material, she never said a word or worried. I was always aggressive and a good provider.
In 1977 the Ciadella family moved from Rochester to Tempe, Arizona. And began having the interior materials brought from NY sewn into seat covers by Bill Phibbs at his home per order. Bill is with our company now and continues to be a great knowledgeable asset.
Ciadella Interiors was the first to make pre-sewn Chevrolet seat covers in approximately 1978 along with headliners. Then we had the Daytona low loop carpet reproduced and began cutting and sewing Daytona carpet sets. Door panels followed afew years later. And we continued to grow.
In 1983 I sold Ciadella Enterprises to David Nora when I wanted to venture into selling Classic Chevy's and Corvettes. Chevs n' Vettes began and we have sold thousands of these desirable cars since 1983 and still are buying and selling Corvettes.
I started Ciadella Interiors again in 2009 with the same highly trained Chevrolet interior cutters, sewers I had over 25 years ago. My main emphisis is on lower prices, high quality and fast delivery time. After Bill Phibbs rounded up the best of the best Chevrolet interior professionals we began manufacturing in April 2009.
We began purchasing needed dielectric heat sealing and die roller cutting machines, sewing machines of different types, shelving, seats for patterns. And thousands of yards of exact duplicates of vinyls, headlinings and seat and door cloth for many years and models. Now we're in business. When I started I stated to my employee's that if I couldn't make it exact or better than any of Ciadella's last materials, I wouldn't proceed. Well I am very excited to state that seat and door panel cloths, 57' Convertible circle pattern vinyls are the finest I have ever had reproduced. Along with 1957 Dobby cloth headlinings, Pyramid and Chain pattern vinyl headlings in all colors. Never before offered 1956 210 Starfrost silver glitter vinyl, and 1957 Inca pattern vinyl with Black imprints. 1962 Impala vinyl inserts with the Black striped Barber Pole embossing.
New items that will be available soon are the 1957 & 1958 Rayon twisted weave carpet. Station wagon rear cargo linoleum, 1958 Convertible insert vinyls roller printed not just screen printed close look alike. The 58' Convertible insert vinyls were embossed with the original embossing and printing rollers used in 1958. 1959 Multi Colored Convertible insert vinyl in all colors. And a lot more being planned.
Please stay in touch and let us know your needs. Some people have said "After 26 years why would you want to get back into the Chevrolet interior business" and "you must have more money than brains". I want to be your Chevrolet Interior Source.
Yours Truly; Pete Ciadella
